David Brown
Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Wrexham AFC have announced the signing of striker David Brown from league rivals Forest Green Rovers.
The 31-year-old had a spell as player-caretaker manager at Forest Green last season before the appointment of David Hockaday as permanent manager at the New Lawn.
Brown began his career as a trainee at Manchester United and has gone on to represent Oldham, Hull City, Chester, Hereford United, Accrington Stanley and Barrow AFC.
Commenting on the latest addition to his squad, Dragons boss Dean Saunders told the Daily Post: "It's shaping up nicely and the average age of the squad is up to 27 when it was probably 22 last year.
"Dave is another experienced player who can play in midfield and he connected well with Andy Mangan at Forest Green and made a lot of his goals.
"I've been chasing Brown all summer and it's been a case of fitting him into the budget.
"He hasn't cost me an arm and a leg but money is tighter than last year so I'm hoping now that fans will come along to get behind the team and buy some season tickets.
"We need a winning team on the pitch who will bring in more supporters and if the gates are on the up I'll be able to go out and bring in better players again."
