Stevenage 2-0 Crawley Town

Stevenage Borough moved back to the top of the Blue Square Premier table with a 2-0 victory over Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon.

In what was not the best game of football from a fans perspective, Boro did enough to secure the points, showing their title credentials in the process.

The two teams struggled to get going in the first period, leaving both managers frustrated in their respective dugouts.

The break did both teams the world of good but it was Stevenage who made the most of the 15 minute interval.

Michael Bostwick took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored a cracker from distance in the 47th minute, sending the home fans into delirious fits of joy.

Boro continued to press forward in search of a second goal, but they had to wait until injury time before they could celebrate the victory.

Lee Boylan made sure of the points with a close-range finish to send the home side back to the top of the table.

Stevenage bookings: Bostwick

Crawley bookings: Rusk, Wilson, Cogan

Attendance: 2,230
