Rockingham Road
Alan Lewer's Histon rallied from a goal behind and with ten men to earn a share of the spoils with Kettering Town at Rockingham Road on Monday.
Kettering were in desperate need of a win heading into Monday's clash after failing to record one in their previous seven league games.
It looked like perhaps their luck was starting to turn when Histon were reduced to ten men in the 31st minute of play.
Histon's Daniel Wright was handed his marching orders after appearing to shove James Jennings, a move which sparked a mass scuffle with players pushing and shoving each other.
Kettering then broke the deadlock six minutes later when Jennings fired home from 10 yards after his initial effort was blocked by goalkeeper David Knight.
Histon had a glorious opportunity to draw level just moments later but Nathaniel Knight-Percival saw his effort from just inside the area hit the crossbar.
But they were not to be denied in the 57th minute when Lee Smith curled a free kick from 25 yards into the top-left corner to make it 1-1.
The Stutes pushed forward with renewed vigour and Glen Southam was twice denied as he looked to fire his side into an unlikely lead.
Knight-Percival had the perfect chance to put his side ahead late on but he somehow missed the target with his header from six yards out.
Kettering bookings: Jennings, Roper, Ebigbo, Dance.
Histon bookings: York, Southam, Knight-Percival.
Sent Off: Wright (31).
Ref: D Mohareb (Cheshire).
Att: 800.
