Poppies clinch Westwood deal
Kettering Town have confirmed the signing of experienced defender Ashley Westwood from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Wrexham AFC.
The 33-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract with the Dragons after turning down a new deal at Wrexham recently.
Commenting on his move to the Poppies, Westwood told the club's official website: "Wrexham were great to me and even though they offered me a deal, I just wanted to play closer to home.
"When Lee [Harper] gave me a ring, I could see he was building a good team here at Kettering and I wanted to be a part of it."
Westwood joined Wrexham from Stevenage Borough in 2008 and went on to make 61 appearances, scoring 3 goals in the process.
