Woking ousted fellow relegation candidates Lewes in a 2-0 win at the Dripping Pan to condemn Kevin Keehan's charges to second-from-bottom in the standings.
Neither side were able to make the most of the opening stanza, with the first goal only coming in the 42nd minute via the trusty boot of Wilfried Domoraud.
The one-goal cushion was intact going into the half-time interval, but the hosts began to push after the break.
Aswad Thomas had a shot on goal in the 52nd minute and Tim Rivers had an effort blocked three minutes later.
But with the Rooks starting to open up in search of the equaliser, Domoraud managed to find space on the 71-minute mark to double the lead and his tally for the night.
Keehan's charges were able to stage a late comeback and now have just 17 points from 23 games.
Meanwhile, Woking climbed out the relegation zone and into 20 spot in the standings.
