Eastbourne 1-0 Lewes

Paul Armstrong was Eastbourne Borough's hero as The Sports overcame Lewes in a Blue Square Premier clash on Boxing Day.

The winner was scored in the 30th minute after Danny Cullip fouled Ashley Barnes in the box. Despite Armstrong having his spot-kick saved by goalkeeper Rikki Banks, he managed to keep his composure and hit the rebound beyond the Rooks shotstopper.

No one was able to add to the score with the hosts holding out for all three points.

The win moves The Sports up into 15th position in the table, while Lewes remain in the relegation zone with 17 points from their 24 league matches.
