Lewes 0-2 Torquay

Torquay United claimed fourth position in the standings on Tuesday night after recording a comfortable win over strugglers Lewes at the Dripping Pan.

The Gulls started brightly an almost got a breakthrough after ten minutes but Tim Sills saw his close-range effort go wide of the right-hand post.

The visitors finally broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Wayne Carlisle's free kick was converted by Kevin Nicholson just outside the penalty box.

Sills came close again in the 77th minute but his header from inside the box somehow missed the target once again.

Torquay wrapped up proceedings in the 84th minute courtesy of Roscoe D'Sane and held firm at the other end to keep a morale-boosting clean sheet.
