Lewes 0-2 Wrexham

Dean Saunders' Wrexham broke into the play-off places on Saturday after taking their chances to record a victory over Lewes at the Dripping Pan.

The match was evenly contested and with goalscoring chances at a premium, the first period ended goalless.

However, the second half belonged to the visiting side, who showed a cutting edge in front of goal.

Wrexham finally broke the deadlock after 67 minutes when Marc Williams met Jonathan Brown's inswinging corner in the six-yard box and placed his header in the back of the net.

The Dragons continued to push forward in search of a second goal and got what they were looking for in the 83rd minute, thanks to a fine strike by Wes Baynes.

Lewes bookings: Standing 22, Barness 45, Cullip 89.

Wrexham bookings: Williams 30, Westwood 88.

Ref: I Cooper.

Att: 689.
