Northwich 3-0 Lewes

Northwich ran out 3-0 winners over Lewes in the battle between the Blue Square Premier's bottom two sides.

A brace from John Allan helped the Vics to victory and ensured that it would be Lewes and not Northwich who would end the season at the bottom of the pile.

With little more than pride to play for, with both sides already relegated, it was Northwich who had the better of the opening exchanges and it was no surprise when they finally went ahead courtesy of a Simon Grand header from Joel Byrom's free-kick after half an hour.

The Rooks rallied as they tried to play their way back into the game, but they were unable to breach the home sides defence.

The Vics extended their lead with 10 minutes to go when John Allan fired home after latching onto a Matthew Bailey pass.

Allan then capped off a sparkling performance for the home side when he netted his second just five minutes later to give his side a 3-0 win.

Northwich Bookings: Brown.

Lewes Bookings: Cox.

Att: 487.

Ref: C Harwood (Manchester).
