Rooks boss signs strike duo

Blue Square South outfit Lewes FC have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of striker Scott Ramsey and former player Jean-Michel Sigere.

29-year-old Ramsey has joined Lewes on a month's loan from Ryman League Premier Division side Hastings United.

He has fallen out of favour with Hastings boss Tony Dolby recently and has been loaned out to the Rooks in order to improve his match sharpness.

Ramsey has been converted to central defender this year but Lewes boss Steve Ibbitson plans to employ the Hastings-born player in an advanced role.

The striker started his career at Brighton & Hove Albion and has since gone on to represent Yeovil Town, Bognor Regis Town, Dover Athletic and Eastbourne Borough.

The Rooks have also confirmed the return of striker Jean-Michel Sigere.

Ibbitson told the club's official website: "He's not been playing regularly and it will take a few weeks to get him match fit, but I've a feeling that he will become a very important player for us this season."

"We've not suddenly found a pot of gold to pay for him though and I'll need to look at making savings in other areas.

"The club's finances are still in a perilous state."

Meanwhile, Ibbitson has confrimed the departure of young winger Ryan Storrie.

Ibbitson added: "I certainly didn't want to see him go, but at his age he said that he wanted to play more football and I completely understand that.

"I reluctantly agreed because I always felt he was a player for the future, but I'd like to thank him for his services to the club and certainly wish him well for the future."
