Weymouth 0-9 Rushden

Rushden & Diamonds cruised to a massive victory at Wessex Stadium on Saturday as a youthful Weymouth side were powerless to resist the onslaught.

Terras boss Alan Lewer fielded a team made of up mostly youth players and despite the large margin of defeat, they battled valiantly throughout.

However, the visitors weren't deterred and approached the match in a professional manner, dominating the fixture from start to finish.

Michael Rankine opened the scoring for Rushden in the 8th minute before Lee Tomlin doubled their lead just three minutes later.

Tomlin grabbed his second of the game on 18 minutes and Chris Hope chipped in with a goal on 32 minutes to send the visitors into the break with a 4-0 lead.

Rushden came out after the break in the same frame of mind as the first and it paid off when Rankine grabbed his second goal on 49 minutes.

Robert Wolleaston made it 6-0 on 59 minutes before a brace from Marcus Kelly made it 8-0.

Kurt Robinson rounded off the scoring for the visitors in the 88th minute, handing Rushden an amazing 9-0 victory.
