Eastbourne Borough 3-0 Weymouth

Eastbourne scored late on in their Blue Square Premier encounter to condemn Weymouth to a 3-0 defeat and leave them precariously perched just above the relegation zone.

There was little in the way of chances for either side in the first half at Priory Lane but Terras boss Alan Lewer would have had to alter his half time talk as the hosts broke the deadlock in injury time.

Matt Crabb headed Allan Tait's cross against the post but it was Weymouth Adam Legzdins who got the final touch as the ball rebounded off the unfortunate keeper and into the back of the net.

Borough had the chance to grab a quick second after the restart but Legzdins fared better this time as he kept out Nathan Crabb's shot. The ball then fell kindly to Matt Smart, but he couldn't make the most of the opportunity and was closed down after initially finding himself with time and space to shoot.

Weymouth have only themselves to blame for not getting anything out of this game as substitute Fola Onibujean wasted two good chances to score with his head.

Substitute Jack Jeffrey then put the game out of site for the visitors with eight minutes to go after being put through on goal by Danny Brown. Jeffrey used his pace to get in behind the Weymouth defence and beat the keeper.

The West Ham loanee then made it three just before the final whistle to end a miserable day for Legzdins. The keeper's kick out was charged down by the striker, who simply tapped the ball into an unguarded net.
