Blue Square South side Weymouth have revealed that midfielder Stephen Reed has returned to the Wessex Stadium on a month's loan from Macclesfield Town.
Reed parted ways with the Terras just hours before their relegation from the Blue Square Premier last season and rejoins the club in a similar setting, with the club languishing at the foot of the table.
The 24-year-old is no stranger to Weymouth chairman George Rolls after their time together at Cambridge united.
"I know Stephen Reed from my time at Cambridge United - he's a utility player we can play at left back or central midfield," Rolls told the Dorset Echo.
"He's proven at Conference Premier level, so coming down to the Blue Square South is a very good scalp for us and I'd like to thank Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander for letting us have him on loan.
"Reedy is a character, he's someone that's got to be managed well.
"I've spoken to him before he's come back to Weymouth and if you get a Stephen Reed whose head is on the ball he brings probably football league standard, so he'll be a good acquisition."
