Justin Edinburgh
Rushden & Diamonds have confirmed the extension of Jamie McGuinness' loan spell at Blue Square South side Weymouth until the end of this season.
Manager Justin Edinburgh believes that the deal with the Terras will benefit the 19-year-old's bid for first-team football.
"I've spoken to the boy and from a personal point of view it's something he needs to do," he told the Evening Telegraph.
"We have to cover all angles where he's playing enough games to either earn a new contract here or get a move elsewhere when his current deal runs out in the summer.
"This scenario suits Jamie who has done well and we've had good reports about him."
McGuinness joined Diamonds ahead of the 2008/2009 season as a free agent from Luton Town.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh also confirmed that Sam Smith's loan spell at Hinckley United will come to an end, with the striker returning to Nene Park next week.
