Eastbourne Borough 1-3 Mansfield Town

A struggling Eastbourne Borough side were beaten by Mansfield Town on Saturday at the Langney Sports Club.

Kyle Nix's early goal for the visitors was cancelled out by Jamie Taylor's strike, but the Stags bagged two in the last quarter to secure a win, with the goals coming from Adam Murray and Keigan Parker.

Duncan Russell made six changes to the side that lost to Altrincham, with Nix coming in for Steve Istead in midfield.

And Nix repaid his manager's faith in the 22nd minute when he stooped down to convert a low Ashley Cain cross via his head.

The men from Mansfield almost doubled their advantage four minutes before the break. This time Nix was the supplier, his corner finding Tom Naylor who headed over the crossbar.

Borough rallied after the interval, and Taylor drew his side level in the 54th minute from 12 yards out after left-wing Neil Jenkins bombed in a pinpoint cross.

But then, with less then 15 minutes left on the clock, the Stags struck twice to wrap up the points and draw a collective groan from the home fans.

Murray restored the visitors' lead with a ferocious strike from inside the area, before Parker added a third from close range in injury time.

The result means Eastbourne remain stranded in 22nd spot on the Blue Square Bet Premier table, while Mansfield claim a much-needed victory after losing their last two games in the league.
