Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon
Eastbourne Borough saw their relegation all but confirmed after a massive defeat to play-off chasing Fleetwood Town at Priory Lane on Saturday afternoon.
First-half goals from Keigan Parker and Magno Vieira put the visitors in the driving seat and Vieira netted again after the break before Jamie McGuire notched their fourth on 57 minutes.
Eastbourne's Neil Jenkins put the ball in his own net two minutes later and substitute George Donnelly completed the rout with a 73rd minute effort.
Fleetwood opened their account on 34 minutes when Parker latched onto a pass from Viera before firing into the bottom-right corner from inside the box.
They were awarded a penalty in the 45th minute when Darren Baker was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area and Vieira calmly converted the resulting spot kick to make it 2-0.
Fleetwood further extended their advantage on 53 minutes when Vieira raced onto a through ball from Parker before firing a shot in off Rikki Banks' right-hand post.
And they made it 4-0 four minutes later when McGuire smashed home from inside the penalty box after collecting a pass from Junior Brown.
Eastbourne's afternoon went from bad to worse two minutes later as Neil Jenkins' back pass was misread by Banks and ball rolled past the goalkeeper and into an unguarded net.
The rout was completed in the 73rd minute when Donnelly latched onto a Parker pass and held off his markers before firing into the back of the net from inside the penalty area.
