Chelmsford City's crumble since new year could be down to many things, maybe losing that all important game to AFC Wimbledon in Jan? Maybe board room changes? Maybe injuries at key times? Maybe the players and staff feeling the pressure? And so they should do! If you look at the towns around us like Southend and Colchester who have League status it is hard for the county town with such a big following to be sitting in their shadows. Either way we are still in the playoffs and deservidly so! I think the reason I was so upset with losing the first leg in the way we did is because the team didn't look like they wanted to win the game, are the players actually hungry enough?? Are they worried that if we go up some will have to leave?? Either way if we lose the tie it will be a big blow for City and their fans. We have beaten every team in the playoffs this season and can do it again, I hope we can on Saturday. C'mon City!!
I am so angry at tonights result! We was suicidal in defence, we let in a goal just before half time with Hampton playing their usual route one, then saw Hampton score another just after half time, we scored one back and looked like we was getting back into it until the ref sent off player of the year Rainford which ruined the game, the next attack from the resulting free kick ended in Hampton going 3-1 up and tie over in my opinion, we are a better footballing side than Hampton but we let ourselves down with silly mistakes and poor defending, I know if we went up we would struggle but we are a big club and should be in the Conference Prem, I would take a Conf Prem struggle over a Conf South promotion hunt any day! If we are to turn the tie around away to Hampton we would deserve promotion as they are a good direct team. If not bring on next season!!
Well done Wimbledon! Hopefully Chelmsford City can follow you via the playoffs like you did us last season!!
Despite Chelmsford's recent form I still think we will go up via the playoffs, C'mon City!!!
Congratulations to Newport County FC ....another ex League side coming back from the brink. They will ... MORE >>
